Our Code of Ethics
Landlords will practice all Federal and Minnesota state Fair Housing Laws. Landlords shall not deny housing to any person for reason of race, color,
religion, sex, handicap, financial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or status in regard to public assistance.
Landlords will adhere to all Minnesota State Statues pertaining to rental housing. Landlords will conduct business legally in regard to leases, security deposits, etc.
Landlords will adhere to local city and county regulations pertaining to rental housing. Landlords will conduct business according to zoning requirements,
occupancy ordinances, signage, etc.
Landlords shall not knowingly or recklessly make false or misleading statements about competitors, their businesses, or their business practices. Landlords should
respect one another as professionals in the rental industry.
Landlords shall be obligated to give honest and complete information regarding tenant referrals to another landlord, agency, or third party requesting information.
Landlords should avoid exaggeration, misrepresentation, or concealment of pertinent facts relating to the referral being requested.
Landlords have the obligation to preserve confidential information provided by their tenants even after the termination of the relationship. Landlords shall not
knowingly reveal confidential information of the tenant or use such information to the disadvantage of the tenant.
- The tenant gives written permission to disclosure information.
- The landlord is required by court order or law to disclose information.
- The intention of the tenant is to commit a crime and information is necessary to prevent the crime.
- It is necessary to defend the landlord or employees against an accusation of wrongful conduct.
Landlords for the protection of all parties, shall assure whenever possible that agreements shall be in writing and shall be in clear and understandable language.
Landlords should - in all written agreements - express specific terms, conditions, obligations and commitments of the parties. A copy of each agreement should be furnished to each party
